Falcons CB Desmond Trufant Out For Season With Broken Forearm

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Falcons CB Desmond Trufant suffered a broken forearm during Sunday’s game and will miss the remainder of the season.

According to Vaughn McClure, Trufant will undergo surgery on Monday.

You can expect the Falcons to place Trufant on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.

Trufant, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Falcons back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $8.165 million contract when the Falcons picked up his fifth-year option worth $8.026 million for the 2017 season.

Atlanta later signed Trufant to a five-year, $69 million extension with nearly $42 million guaranteed in 2017. He stands to make a base salary of $10.75 million for the 2020 season.

In 2019, Trufant has appeared in nine games for the Falcons and recorded 18 tackles, four interceptions and seven passes defended.
