Jordan Schultz is reporting that the Falcons are bringing free agent DE/OLBย Pernell McPhee for a visit on Wednesday.
McPhee reportedly has an official offer from the Redskins, but it doesn’t appear to be good enough to prevent him from meeting with other teams.
It’s worth mentioning that signing McPhee to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.
McPhee, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2011. He spent four years in Baltimore before signing a five-year, $38.75 million contract that included $15.5 million guaranteed back in 2015.
McPhee was set to make base salaries of $7.2 million and $7.625 million over the next two years when the Bears released him this offseason in a move that freed up $7,075,000 of available cap space.
In 2017, McPhee appeared in 13 games for the Bears and recorded 21 tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble and two pass defenses.
We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
