Falcons Promoting CB Ricardo Allen To Active Roster

Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports that the Atlanta Falcons are placing CB Robert Alford (wrist) on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday and promoting CB Ricardo Allen from their practice squad.

The Falcons announced that Alford was heading injured reserve on Monday after he underwent surgery on his wrist, so this is really more of a confirmation in regards to Alford.

Atlanta used a fifth-round pick on Allen this past year, but he was unable to make the final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and later signed on to their practice squad.

During his senior season at Purdue, Allen totaled six interceptions, 53 tackles, with four tackles for loss, and 12 passes defensed.
