Falcons Release G Justin Blalock, Free Up $3.79M In Cap Space

The Atlanta Falcons also announced the release of G Justin Blalock on Friday.

Blalock, 31, still had another two years remaining on his six-year, $38.4 million contract that included $16 million guaranteed, He would have made base salaries of $4.75 million and $6.15 million over the remaining years of the agreement.

According to OverTheCap.com, this move frees up $3,790,000 in available cap space for the Falcons while creating $4,120,000 in dead money.

Pro Football Focus had Blalock rated as the No. 25 guard in the league out of 78 qualifying players.
