The Atlanta Falcons announced Tuesday evening that they’ve released OLB O’Brien Schofieldย to make room for newly signed LB A.J. Hawk.
Schofield, 29, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2010. He spent three years in Arizona before signing on with the Seahawks in 2013.ย Schofield later followedย Dan Quinn to Atlanta and signed a one-year contract with the Falcons last year.
Atlanta decided to re-sign Schofield two weeks ago and waivedย RB Terron Wardย in a correspondingย roster move.
In 2015, Schofield appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and recorded 29 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble.ย Pro Football Focusย rated him as the No. 71ย edge rusherย out of 110 qualifying players.
