Falcons Tried Out Five Players

According to Howard Balzer, the Atlanta Falcons brought in five free agents for workouts on Tuesday.

The full list tryouts for the Falcons includes:

  1. LB B.J. Bello
  2. LB Richie Brown
  3. S Sharrod Neasman
  4. DT Rakeem Nunez-Roches
  5. DE Jeremiah Valoaga

Of these players, the Falcons signed Neasman to their active roster and Brown to their practice squad.

Nunez-Roches, 24, is a former sixth-round pick out of Southern Miss by the Chiefs back in the 2014 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year rookie contract but wound up being waived and signed to the team’s practice squad.

The Chiefs eventually promoted him to their active roster and tendered him at the original-round level this offseason. However, Kansas City somewhat surprisingly waived Nunez-Roches a few weeks after he signed his restricted tender.

The Colts quickly claimed him off waivers but cut him loose as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit.

In 2017, Nunez-Roches appeared in all 16 games for the Chiefs and recorded 24 total tackles and 0.5 of a sack.
