Former Browns HC Rob Chudzinski Joins Colts’ Coaching Staff

The Indianapolis Colts have announced the addition of former Browns HC Rob Chudzinski who will serve as a special assistant to head coach Chuck Pagano.

“Rob and I have a long professional relationship and his résumé speaks for itself,” Pagano said in a statement. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and will be a tremendous help to our entire team moving forward. Needless to say, we’re excited to have ‘Chud’ joining our family.”

The Browns somewhat surprisingly replaced Chudzinski following the season, despite the fact that he spent less than a full calendar year as their head coach. Cleveland will be paying Chudzinski close to $10 million over the duration of his contract.

He found some interest for coaching positions a few months ago, but he wasn’t seen as a finalist.

Chudzinski worked with Pagano at the University of Miami for eight season, so they are clearly familiar with one another. It can’t hurt for the Colts to add some more knowledge to their offensive staff, as OC Pep Hamilton was criticized for much of the 2013 season.
