According to Field Yates of ESPN, free agent DB Marqui Christian has been suspended for the first two weeks of the regular season for an undisclosed violation.
Christian agreed to a one-year deal worth $2 million for the 2020 season with the Jets this offseason. However, the deal later fell through.
Christian, 25, is a former fifth-round of the Cardinals back in 2016. Arizona waived Christian a few weeks into the 2016 regular season and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Rams.
Christian played out the year of his four-year, $2.55 million contract and has been testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.
In 2019, Christian appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and recorded 34 tackles, no interceptions and two passes defended. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 74 safety out of 86 qualifying players.
