Free Agent Parys Haralson “Expected” To Be An Option For Packers

Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the Packers are “expected” to consider is Saints free agent OLB Parys Haralson.

  • Silverstein adds that the Packers had interest in him while he was with the the 49ers a few years ago.

Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reported a few weeks ago that the Saints have had some “preliminary discussions” about re-signing Haralson, but there hasn’t been much, if any, reported progress since then.

The Packers could obviously use some help at outside linebacker, and Haralson could also provide some leadership as well.

Haralson, 30, came over in a trade with the 49ers back in late August. Last season, he totaled 30 tackles and 3.5 sacks over the course of 16 games for the Saints.

Haralson unfortunately suffered a torn pectoral muscle during their Wildcard playoff game against the Eagles, but he is expected to be back in time for the start of the offseason program.
