Free Agent RB Felix Jones Hopeful He Will Play This Season

Free agent RB Felix Jones told reporters over the weekend that he is hopeful he’ll eventually catch on with a new team before the start of the 2014 season.

“I know something is going to happen, I have a gut feeling,” Jones said on Saturday at his annual Life Skills and Drills camp, via Tulsa World. “I just have to stay prepared for it.

Jones, 27, has found any reported interest this offseason, but there is a chance that an injury could create an opportunity for him to join a team for training camp or during the preseason.

“Every day just grind, it’s a grind,” Jones said. “Get out there and stay focused and stay on top of things and do the things you know how to do. (I have to) stay focused and ready.”

Last year, he appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers and ran for 184 yards on 48 carries (3.8 YPC) while contributing nine receptions for 63 yards yards.
