Adam Schefter reports that the Giants have claimed WR Dante Pettis off of waivers from the 49ers on Wednesday.
The 49ers were even open about shopping him in trade talks. However, it appears as though no team was willing to part with a draft pick for him.
Pettis, 25, is a former second-round pick of the 49ers back in 2018. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $6,440,562 contract that included a $2,734,952 signing bonus with the 49ers.
Pettis stands to make base salaries of $961,870 and $1,252,805 over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2020, Pettis has been active for five games, but has yet to catch pass. He has totaled 18 kick return yards and another 14 punt return yards for the 49ers.
