Giants Considering D.J. Ware Over David Wilson For No. 2 RB Job?

Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN’s New York writes that Giants RB D.J Ware currently has the “upper hand” in the competition for the team’s backup running back position due to his experience.

“My guess is Ware is the backup until Wilson is ready, although Brown and Scott should make camp interesting,” writes Youngmisuk.

The Giants clearly see Ahmad Bradshaw as their No. 1 running back this season, but he comes with injury concerns of his own, which is why it’s very important that whoever wins the backup job is prepared to handle a portion of the workload. First-round pick David Wilson showcased the potential to be featured back in college, but so even if they end up going with Ware as their No. 2 option, there’s no guarantee that he’ll maintain the job throughout the remainder of the season.
