Giants Expected To Be In Market For Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith & Markus Golden

Jordan Raanan reports that the Giants are concentrated on defensive help, particularly at edge rusher.

According to Raanan, the Giants are expected to be in the market for Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith and Markus Golden.

Raanan notes that the price tag for pass rushers is likely to cost somewhere between $10-$15 million per year this offseason. 

Smith, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year rookie contract and is now testing the open market for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2018, Smith appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens and recorded 45 tackles, 8.5 sacks, a forced fumble and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 33 edge rusher out of 103 qualifying players.

Smith, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Redskins back in 2015. He played out the final year of his rookie contract and is now in line to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2018, Smith appeared in all 16 games for the Redskins and recorded 53 tackles, four sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 19 edge rusher out of 103 qualifying players.

Golden, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year rookie contract and is now testing the free agent market for the first time in his NFL career. 

In 2018, Golden appeared in 11 games for the Cardinals and recorded 30 tackles, 2.5 sacks and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 99 edge rusher out of 103 qualifying players.
