Giants Hosting Clemson DT Dexter Lawrence For Visit

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Giants are hosting Clemson DT Dexter Lawrence for a pre-draft visit on Tuesday.

Garafolo notes that Giants DC James Bettcher was in attendance at Lawrence’s pro day to see Lawrence.

The Giants hold the No. 17 overall pick, so it’s possible Lawrence could be a consideration for them at that point in round one. New York could use some more defensive line depth and GM Dave Gettleman has placed an emphasis on the position over the year. 

Lawrence is among the best defensive line prospects in this year’s draft and should end up being a first-round pick when all is said and done.

During his three-year college career at Clemson, Lawrence recorded 131 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, 10 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, three recoveries and four pass defenses.
