Giants LT Nate Solder (Ankle) Expects To Be Ready For Training Camp

Giants LT Nate Solder said Saturday at the Health & Fitness Expo that his ankle is “progressing really nicely” and he expects to be back for the start of training camp.

“There’s no reason to think that I won’t be there for training camp,” Solder said, per Dan Duggan

Solder mentioned that he’s doing less rehab and more football training now.

Beyond that, Solder told reporters that he got word from his oncologist on Friday that he no longer needs to have scans for testicular cancer he had five years ago, per Duggan.

Solder underwent an ankle scope and was previously unsure about whether he would he ready to return to for training camp. 

Solder, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Patriots back in 2011. He’s played seven seasons for the Patriots before agreeing to a four-year, $62 million contract with the Giants last year.

In 2017, Solder appeared in 16 games for the Patriots and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 21 offensive tackle out of 80 qualifying players.
