Paul Schwartz of the New York Post wrote Saturday that it seems like Giants RB Tyrone Tracy is on the outside looking in for a place on the roster this season.

Tracy had another bad gaffe in Week 2 of the preseason, losing a fumble in the low red zone. The week before, he had a missed pass block that led to QB Jaxson Dart being leveled and pulled from the game briefly for a concussion check.
The Giants signed RB Najee Harris this past week, which they’ve said was not a response to Tracy’s mistake but does make the running back room a lot more crowded. Second-year RB Cam Skattebo will lead the committee and Harris joins Tracy and RB Devin Singletary among those jockeying for spots in the pecking order behind him.
Giants HC John Harbaugh said he wouldn’t talk about Tracy’s roster chances specifically when asked. He did say Singletary has been remarkably consistent, and Schwartz thinks at this point Tracy is behind Skattebo, Harris and Singletary.
He was a recent addition to our Updated 2026 Preseason Trade Block piece looking at players potentially available ahead of the season.
Tracy, 26, started his career at Iowa as a wide receiver before transferring to Purdue for his final two seasons and converting to running back. The Giants selected him with the No. 166 overall pick in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Tracy signed a four-year, $4,306,352 rookie contract that included a $286,352 signing bonus.
In 2025, Tracy appeared in 15 games for the Giants and rushed 176 times for 740 yards and two touchdowns, adding 36 catches on 48 targets for 288 yards and another two touchdowns.
We’ll have more on Tracy as the news is available.
