Art Stapleton reports that the Giants are re-signing WR T.J. Jones on Wednesday with Sterling Shepard in concussion protocol.
Jones, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Lions back in 2014. He played out the final year of his contract and re-signed with Detroit to a one-year deal last season.
Jones finished out his contract with the Lions and signed a one-year deal with the Steelers back in April, but was cut loose soon after. The Giants later signed him to a contract only to release him coming out of the preseason.
In 2018, Jones appeared in 15 games and recorded 19 receptions for 190 yards and two touchdowns.
