Ian Rapoport reports the typical timeline for that type of injury is anywhere from one to three weeks. Giants HC Pat Shurmur confirmed the team doesn’t expect the injury to end Peppers’ season, per Art Stapleton.
Peppers, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Browns back in 2017. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $10.3 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1.4 million for the 2019 season.
Peppers was traded to New York from Cleveland as part of the Odell Beckham Jr trade. The Giants have a fifth-year option for Peppers they can pick up in 2020.
In 2019, Peppers has appeared in 11 games for the Giants and recorded 76 tackles, an interception returned for a touchdown, three forced fumbles and five pass defenses.
