Giants Sign LB Eric Pinkins To Practice Squad, Cut QB Logan Thomas

The New York Giants officially signed LB Eric Pinkins to their practice squad and waived QB Logan Thomas from the unit on Wednesday.

Thomas, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in Arizona before he was waived and later claimed by the Dolphins.

Thomas is in the third year his four-year, $2,652,092 rookie contract when the Dolphins waived him back in June and he was later claimed by the Giants.

New York later cut Thomas a few weeks ago before adding him to their practice squad. Since then, he’s been on and off of their practice squad.

In 2014, Thomas appeared in two games for the Cardinals, even though they lost Carson Palmer and Stanton for the season. He threw for 81 yards and a touchdown, but completed just a single pass attempt.

Pinkins, 25, was taken in the sixth-round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Seahawks. He was waived at the start of the regular season last year but signed to their practice squad a day later. Pinkins was on and off of their practice squad throughout most of the year.

He later returned to Seattle on an exclusive rights contract back in March. Seattle waived him with an injury designation, which led to him being placed on injured reserve.

The Seahawks ended up cutting Pinkins loose from I.R. with a settlement.

In 2015, Pinkins appeared in six games for the Seahawks and recorded two tackles
