Giants TE’s Jake Ballard & Travis Beckum To Start The Year On PUP List

New York Giants GM Jerry Reese mentioned that he expects both TE’s Jake Ballard and Travis Beckum to be on the teams PUP list to start next, per Jorge Castillo of the Star-Ledger. Both players wound up tearing their ACL’s during the Super Bowl.

This, obviously, isn’t a positive situation for the Giants but there could be some decent low-cost option in this year’s free agent class if they choose to go that route.  You can probably cross off Jermichael Finley and Fred Davis as reports have indicated that both the Redskins and the Packers are considering using their franchise tags on them. That leaves John Carlson, Bo ScaifeJoel Dreessen and Kellen Davis are players that the Giants may consider.

Their best options probably lie in the draft. We have the Giants taking Clemson TE Dwayne Allen with #32 overall in our most recent 2012 Mock Draft.
