Giants Worked Out CBs Robert Nelson & Elie Bouka

The New York Giants brought in free agent cornerbacks Robert Nelson and Elie Bouka for workouts on Thursday, according to Howard Balzer.

Nelson recently tried out for the Jets but wasn’t signed to a contract following the session.

Nelson, 27, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State back in May of 2014. He lasted just over a year in Cleveland before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season and later signed to the Cardinals’ practice squad.

The Texans signed Nelson to a future/reserve contract but he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason. Houston signed him to their practice squad a day later and eventually promoted to the active roster.

In 2016, Nelson appeared in 11 games for the Texans and recorded 20 total tackles, one interception, and two pass defenses.
