Giants Worked Out LB Akeem Ayers, G John Greco, DT Dan Williams & CB B.W. Webb

Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports that the Giants brought in several notable free agents for workouts on Tuesday including LB Akeem Ayers, G John Greco, LB Jonathan Freeny and DT Dan Williams.

Ayers, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Titans back in 2011. He was later traded to the Patriots in return for a 2015 sixth-round pick.

The Rams signed him to a two-year, $6 million contract with $2.75 million guaranteed back in March of 2015. However, he was cut loose by the team in September of last year.

The Colts signed Ayers to a contract just a few days after he was released, but elected to move on from his this past weekend.

In 2016, Ayers appeared in all 16 games for the Colts and recorded 21 total tackles, two sacks, one interception, and two pass defenses.

Williams, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract with Arizona before signing a four-year, $25 million contract that included $15 million guaranteed with the Raiders back in 2015.

Williams was set to make a base salary of $4.35 million for the 2017 season when the Raiders cut him back in April.

In 2016, Williams appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 17 tackles, a half sack and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 44 interior defensive lineman out of 127 qualifying players.

Williams, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Lions back in 2016. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2.544 million contract and set to make a base salary of $540,000 for the 2017 season when the Lions elected to cut him loose this past weekend.

In 2016, Williams appeared in 14 games for the Lions and recorded 26 tackles, no sacks or interceptions, and a fumble recovery.
