Giants WR Golden Tate Appealing Four-Game Suspension For PED Violation

Adam Schefter reports that Giants WR Golden Tate is currently appealing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s Performance Enhancing Substance policy and believes he has a legitimate case.

Here’s the statement from Tate:

This is the last thing the Giants need right now after they lost Corey Coleman to a season-ending torn ACL and Sterling Shepard to a fractured thumb.

It’s worth mentioning that the Giants are bringing in a number of receivers for workouts on Saturday.

Tate, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract in Seattle before signing a five-year, $31 million contract that included $13.25 million with the Lions.

Tate was traded to the Eagles at the deadline last year and made a base salary of $7 million for the 2018 season. The Giants later signed him to a four-year, $37.5 million contract that includes $23 million fully guaranteed.

In 2018, Tate appeared in 15 games for the Lions and Eagles and caught 74 passes for 795 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
