A.J. McCarron & Mike Glennon Still Possibilities For Cardinals

Tiffany Blackmon reports that the Cardinals are still in need of more quarterbacks and A.J. McCarron and Mike Glennon are both free agent possibilities for Arizona, even after the Cardinals signed Sam Bradford.

  • Earlier in the day, Ian Rapoport reported that Glennon will be on the Cardinals’ radar once he’s officially released by the Bears tomorrow.

Glennon, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $3.104 million rookie contract before signing a three-year, $45 million contract with the Bears that includes 18.5 million guaranteed.

In 2017, Glennon appeared in four games and threw for 833 yards while completing 66.4 percent of his passes to go along with four touchdowns and five interceptions.

McCarron, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,401,652 contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season and is testing the free agent market for the first time in his career.

McCarron won a grievance against the Bengals that stemmed from the team’s decision to place him on the non-football injury list (NFI) at the start of training camp due to a shoulder issue during his rookie year. This prevented McCarron from accruing a season and is why he would have only qualified as a restricted free agent had he lost the case.

In 2017, McCarron appeared in three games for the Bengals and completed 7 of 14 passes for 66 yards to go along with no touchdowns or interceptions.

We have him featured in our Top 100  – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
