Jaguars Expected To Make “Significant Changes” Next Year

Adam Schefter, citing league sources, reports that there are expected to be “significant changes” in Jacksonville after the regular season.

According to Schefter, the question is how extensive those changes will be, as no one knows who will be fired by Jaguars’ ownership next year.

Schefter says some sources around the league believe it will be tough for HC Doug Marrone to keep his job while others could see VP of football operations Tom Coughlin stepping aside to spend more time with his family.

Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell is another key figure to watch next year.

While it’s clear that multiple people could be out in Jacksonville, Schefter mentions that no major changes are expected until after the season.

A few weeks ago, Jason La Canfora reported that there’s a strong sense within the Jaguars organization that major changes are coming at the end of the 2019 season, so this isn’t a big surprise.

La Canfora mentioned that several members of the coaching staff and front office are concerned about their job security and have begun reaching out around the league to gauge availability for positions with other teams.

Jacksonville is currently in last place in the AFC South and appears to have gone backward from last season.

La Canfora previously tossed out former Chiefs GM Scott Pioli and Patriots OC Josh McDaniels as two candidates Jacksonville would have interest in if they decide to move on from their current staff.

We’ll have more on the Jaguars coaching staff and front office as the news is available.
