Jaguars Had Preliminary Extension Talks With Three Players

According to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco, the Jaguars have opened up preliminary extension talks with DE Travon Walker, TE Brenton Strange and WR Parker Washington

All three are entering contract years in 2026. Walker is playing on the fifth-year option as the former No. 1 pick in 2022, while Strange and Washington are on the final year of their initial four-year rookie pacts.

Jaguars GM James Gladstone was optimistic about getting some deals done, telling DiRocco they are “probably within striking distance to see things come to light.”

Walker, 25, was the first overall pick by the Jaguars in the 2022 draft out of Georgia. He signed a four-year, $37.4 million contract with a fifth-year option for 2026.

He was set to make a base salary of $1.1 million in 2025 when the Jaguars exercised his fifth-year option worth $15.196 million fully guaranteed for the 2026 season.

In 2025, Walker appeared in 14 games for the Jaguars and recorded 38 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and two pass deflections.

We’ll have more on the Jaguars as the news is available.
