According to Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, the Jaguars have interviewed former Giants GM Jerry Reese for their general manager vacancy.
The two say the interview happened last week and Reese remains an option for a number of other general manager openings around the league.
Reese has come up as a candidate for the Lions and Rapoport and Garafolo note he also has a relationship with Panthers HC Matt Rhule dating back to their time in New York, which could make him a fit in Carolina.
So far, the Jaguars have interviews set up with three other candidates:
- ESPN analyst Louis Riddick (Interview scheduled)
- Jaguars interim GM Trent Baalke (Interview scheduled)
- Former Texans GM Rick Smith (Interview scheduled)
Reese, 57, was hired as the Giants GM in 2007 and spent 11 years in charge of the team before being fired in 2017.
In total, the Giants were 90-82 (52.3 percent) under Reese, which includes four playoff appearances and two Super Bowl titles.
We’ll have more on the Jaguars’ general manager search as the news is available.
