The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Saturday that they’ve placed S Josh Jones (chest) on injured reserved and waived DL Caraun Reid.
The Jaguars also promoted LB Joe Giles-Harris, WR Terry Godwin, OL KC McDermott and S Doug Middleton to their active roster and activated S Andrew Wingard from injured reserve.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.
Jones, 26, was a second-round pick by the Packers out of North Carolina State in 2017. He was entering the third year of a four-year, $4.2 million deal when Green Bay waived Jones with a non-football illness last year.
Jones passed through waivers unclaimed and signed on to the Cowboys’ practice squad before being called up in November. He was waived a few weeks later and claimed by the Jaguars.
In 2020, Jones has appeared in eight games for the Jaguars and recorded 61 tackles and no interceptions or passes defended.
