Jaguars Promoting WR Montay Crockett To Active Roster

Jaguars HC Doug Marrone announced Tuesday that they’ve promoting WR Montay Crockett to their active roster after they lost WR Jaelen Strong for the season to a torn ACL.

Crockett, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Southern back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Packers cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Jaguars signed him to their practice squad a few months ago.

During his college career at Georgia Southern, Crockett caught 28 passes for 442 yards receiving and two touchdowns over the course of 25 games.
