Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette Loses Appeal, Suspended For Week 13

The NFL announced Wednesday that Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette has lost his appeal of his one-game suspension for violations of unsportsmanlike conduct and unnecessary roughness.

Fournette will miss Week 13’s game as a result and is eligible to return to the team next Monday.

Fournette was ejected in the third quarter of Sunday’s Week 12 game against the Bills for throwing punches with DE Shaq Lawson.

Jacksonville will turn to Carlos Hyde and T.J. Yeldon to handle the workload this weekend.

Fournette, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2017. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $27.15 million contract that’s fully guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $1.69 million for the 2018 season.

The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Jaguars to pick up in 2020.

In 2018, Fournette has appeared in five games and rushed for 314 yards on 90 carries (3.5 YPC) to go along with 14 receptions for 14 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
