Jaguars WR Jaelen Strong Out For Season With Torn ACL

Jaguars WR Jaelen Strong announced via his Instagram Monday that he suffered a season-ending ACL tear during Sunday’s loss to the 49ers.

I never questioned God when he continued to overflow my life with blessings so I won’t question him now. I was cut in September by the Texans. Jags claimed me a day after. 14 weeks later I am finally active. My first reception goes for a TD. IM SO EXCITED to finally be out here w GANG grinding w my dogs and then I tear my ACL. I walked off on my own power cause i immediately thought of who was watching me, our youth! Let this be a testimony for you. No matter what knocks you down you gotta pull ya self back up and what better way to show you then this… can’t wait to watch my dogs in the OFFS! Love everybody who been in my corner. And ima come back on some savage shit and I promise you that w every bone in my body! Thank you #Strizzy

You can expect the Jaguars to place him on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.

Strong, 23, was taken in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Texans. He’s in the third year of his four-year, $3.281 million rookie contract that included $820,338 guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 (2017), and $705,000 (2018) over the remainder of the contract.

The Texans waived Strong coming out of the preseason before he was claimed off of waivers by the Jaguars. Jacksonville elected to waive Strong last month and later re-signed him to their practice squad.

Strong was called up to their active roster a few weeks ago.

In 2017, Strong appeared in two games for the Jaguars and caught three passes for 38 yards receiving and one touchdown.
