Jets Cut LB Ahmad Gooden

The New York Jets announced that they have released LB Ahmad Gooden, who was placed on the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list on July 29.

Gooden, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Samford last year. He later signed a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Broncos but was waived coming out of the preseason.

Denver re-signed Gooden to their practice squad and later promoted him to the active roster. He was waived in December before signing on to the Jets’ taxi squad.

In 2019, Gooden appeared in three games for the Broncos and recorded one tackle.
