Jets Expected To Waive RB Zac Stacy With Failed Physical Designation

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Jets are expected to waive RB Zac Stacy with a failed physical designation.

Caplan mentions that Stacy underwent left ankle surgery last November.

This comes shortly after the news that the Jets have signed veteran RB Bernard Pierce to a contract.

Stacy, 25, came over in a trade with the Rams that sent a seventh round pick that ultimately became Bryce Hager to St. Louis. He is in the final year of his four-year, $2.337 million rookie contract that included a $176,500 signing bonus. Stacy will make base salaries of $585,000 and $675,000 over the remainder of the agreement.

Stacy’s 2015 season came to an end with him appearing in eight games and rushing for 89 yards on 31 carries (2.9 YPC) to go along with nine receptions for 65 yards receiving and one total touchdown.
