Jets “Very Likely” To Sign OL Spencer Long, Also In On DL DaQuan Jones

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Jets are “very likely” to sign OL Spencer Long to a contract and they’re also pushing to land RB Jerick McKinnon and DL DaQuan Jones.

Long, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Redskins back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,863,800 contract with the Redskins and is now in position to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Long appeared in seven games for the Redskins before he was placed on injured reserve. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 19 center out of 36 qualifying players.

Jones, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Titans back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.675 million contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season.

Jones is now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

In 2017, Jones appeared in 12 games and recorded 31 tackles and 3.5 sacks for the Titans. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 42 interior defensive lineman out of 122 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
