Ravens Hosting QB Matt Schaub For A Visit Today

Update:

Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun confirms that free agent QB Matt Schaub is meeting with the Ravens Tuesday afternoon.

  • According to Zrebiec, the Ravens are looking to add competition for backup QB Keith Wenning before training camp.

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that free agent QB Matt Schaub will be visiting with the Ravens at some point this week.

  • Wilson adds that the Falcons, Cowboys and Titans are interested in him as well.

There are reportedly five teams interested in Schaub right now, which is a pretty decent market given where we are in free agency, and the fact that he’s coming off of poor performances in recent years.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that veteran QB Matt Schaub is expected to sign with a new team at some point this week.

According to Schefter, the Jets, Ravens, and Falcons are all teams to keep an eye on in regards to Schaub, even though there are other teams in the mix.

New Falcons HC Dan Quinn recently mentioned that they could consider bringing in Schaub at some point.

“Schaub is certainly somebody that we could [add],” Quinn said, via Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com. “As we get through it, we’ll let you know if we go down that road.”

Schaub, 33, signed a two-year, $13.5 million contract that included $8 million guaranteed after the Raiders sent a sixth-round pick to the Texans for him.

Unfortunately, Schaub lasted just one year in Oakland before he was released in a move that freed up all $5.5 million in cap space for the Raiders.

In 2014, Schaub was active for 11 games, but was limited to playing just 19 snaps. He completed 5 of 10 passes for 57 yards and two interceptions.
