Middleton, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State back in 2016. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.
The Jets waived Middleton during the 2017 preseasonwith an injury designation and he later reverted to their injured reserve list. New York re-signed him to a one-year exclusive rights contract last year.
In 2018, Middleton appeared in seven games and recorded 27 tackles, no interceptions and three pass defenses.
