Jets Officially Re-Sign RB Bilal Powell

Update:

The New York Jets announced that they’ve officially re-signed RB Bilal Powell.

The agreement was reported close to a week ago, so they’ve waited to make an official announcement regarding Powell returning to the Jets.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets have agreed to terms with RB Bilal Powell.

  • Mehta adds that Powell was contemplating a reunion with Rex Ryan in Buffalo, but ultimately chose to stay with the Jets.

There was talk that Bills could bring in Powell and get rid of Bryce Brown, but it appears as though the Jets stepped up to the plate and made sure he was back with the team next season.

Powell, 26, appeared in 15 games for the Jets in 2014 and ran for 141 yards on 33 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with 11 receptions for 92 yards receiving and one touchdown.
