Jets Re-Sign S Antonio Allen

The New York Jets announced Tuesday that they’ve re-signed S Antonio Allen.

Allen, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Jets back in 2012. He has played out his four-year, $2.1 million rookie contract and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time.

Allen, unfortunately, suffered a season-ending Achilles injury back in August of last year and was subsequently waived with the injury designation before reverting to the Jets injured reserve list.

The Texans signed him to a contract back in March before cutting him loose last week.

In 2014, Allen appeared in 15 games for the Jets and recorded 41 tackles, a half sack, a forced fumble and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 63 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players that year.
