The New York Jets announced Tuesday that they’ve signed LB Harvey Langi to a futures contract for the 2019 season.
As of now, the Jets have signed seven players to futures deals including:
- OT Dieugot Joseph
- C Jon Toth
- WR DeAngelo Yancey
- DE Charles Tapper
- DB Tevaughn Campbell
- WR Stacy Coley
- LB Harvey Langi
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Langi, 26, signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of BYU back in 2017. Unfortunately, Langi was placed on the non-football injury list with a back injury in October to end his 2017 season.
New England released Langi as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit coming out of the preseason and the Jets later signed him to their practice squad. However, New York would move him to the injured a few weeks later.
In 2017, Langi appeared in one game and recorded one tackle for the Patriots.
