Jets Sign TE Eric Tomlinson Off Texans’ PS, Waived LB Victor Ochi

The Jets signed TE Eric Tomlinson off of the Texans’ practice squad on Saturday and waived LB Victor Ochi in a corresponding roster move, according to Kimberley A. Martin.

Tomlinson, 24, originally signed on with the Eagles in 2015 as an undrafted free agent out of UTEP. He was unfortunately among their final roster cuts, but later signed a future/reserve deal with the Texans.

Houston decided to cut Tomlinson as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit and added him to their practice squad after clearing waivers.

Ochi, 22, wound up signing on with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Stony Brook back in May. He was unfortunately cut loose coming out of the preseason, as the Ravens’ trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

During his career at Stony Brook, Ochi recorded 135 tackles, 19.5 sacks, 34 tackles for a loss and three forced fumbles over the course of 35 games played.
