The New York Jets signed WR Mardy Gilyard Tuesday evening following a workout, per Mark Garafolo.
Following injuries to Clyde Gates (concussion), Chaz Schilens (concussion) and Jeremy Kerley (heel, hamstring), the Jets added depth at wide receiver with a player who can also assume return duties if Kerley is indeed out this week.
New York needs impact receivers and the explosive Gilyard, who last saw time with the Philadelphia Eagles, could get a look in the team’s rotation.
