According to Kimberley A. Martin, the Jets waived/injured S Antonio Allen in a corresponding roster move to promoting LB Freddie Bishop to their active roster.
- Martin notes that Allen has been sidelined by a concussion.
He will revert to the team’s injured reserve once he clears waivers.
Allen, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Jets back in 2012. He played out his four-year, $2.1 million rookie contract before returning this offseason on an undisclosed deal.
Allen, unfortunately, suffered a season-ending Achilles injury back in August of last year and was subsequently waived with the injury designation before reverting to the Jets injured reserve list.
The Texans signed him to a contract back in March before cutting him loose. New York decided to re-sign him back in September.
In 2016, Allen has been active in 12 games for the Jets and recorded five total tackles.
