Jets Will Activate DE Joseph Ossai Today

Per Brian Costello, the Jets will activate DE Joseph Ossai off the PUP list today.

Costello adds Ossai won’t practice this week, but he can start working back to practice next week, possibly. He’s been on PUP list since the start of camp with an undisclosed injury.

Ossai, 25, was a three-year starter at Texas and was named first-team All-Big Ten in 2020. The Bengals selected him in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year deal worth $5,192,614 that included a signing bonus of $1,136,446.

He finished out the contract and was in line to test the free agent market for the first time in his NFL career when he signed a one-year deal with Cincinnati for the 2025 season. From there, the Jets signed Ossai to a three-year, $36 million deal this offseason.

In 2025, Ossai appeared in 14 games for the Bengals and recorded 43 tackles, nine tackles for loss, five sacks and two forced fumbles.
