According to ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay, the Cowboys have Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel rated as the top player on their draft board.
“I’m told by two different people that he’s the No. 1 player on their board,” McShay said, via Rotoworld.
- However, Dane Brugler of CBS Sports mentions that Manziel isn’t even the top rated quarterback on the Cowboys’ draft board.
- ESPN’s Ed Werder also tweeted thatย he isn’t buying the talk of Manziel being No. 1 on Dallas’ board. Interestingly enough, Werder mentioned thatย Jerry “undeniably loves him” and it could be “hardest decision” for Jerry Jonesย to makeย since he passed on Randy Moss several years ago.
- According to Ian Rapoport, Blake Bortles is the Cowboys No. 1 rated quarterback.
There has been some talk that Jones could target Manziel in round one, but until today, thatย idea appeared to be loosing steam.
Some expect Manziel to come off the board at No. 7 overall to the Buccaneers, but it’s really hard to completely rule anything out at this point in time.
