Kevin Smith Is Sliding Down The Lions Depth Chart

After beginning the season as the Detroit Lions starting running back, Kevin Smith did not play a single offensive snap as they fell to the Vikings 20-13, per Chris Burke.

It appears that Smith has become the Lions No. 3 running back behind Mikel Leshoure and Joique Bell. LeShoure had 17-touches as the starting back and Bell had seven as the Lions third-down back. In the 2011 draft, the Lions had drafted LeShoure with the intentions of having him play a major role in the teamโ€™s offense, so it shouldnโ€™t surprise anyone that he is now the starter. It doesnโ€™t appear that Smith will see the ball that much in the near future, as this marks the second week in a row he didnโ€™t have a touch.
