Latest On Maxx Crosby Trade, Including Interested Teams, Offers & Problems With Raiders

According to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones, while teams think the Raiders’ asking price for DE Maxx Crosby is too high right now, there are teams willing to give up a first-round pick and more to land the veteran pass rusher.

Jones cites multiple sources to say the Bears are a team to watch that’s chasing Crosby, with the Cowboys also lurking in the mix.

He mentions a high-ranking source is under the impression Crosby would play on his current contract for a new team, which would impact his trade value. If Crosby were seeking a raise, the Raiders would get less in a trade.

According to the Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Raiders have not moved off from their asking price of two first-round picks and a player. Several teams are interested, but decision-makers are getting mixed signals from the Raiders about how willing they are to trade Crosby.

James Palmer says a trade could happen as soon as this week, as the Raiders would want to try and maximize their return for Crosby and their best chance of doing that is before free agency.

Palmer notes GM John Spytek has talked about being “sober” about where the Raiders are right now in terms of being competitive, so he thinks the Raiders would trade Crosby for the right return.

He points out other teams are a little wary of how much Crosby has left in the tank at 29 years old with his injury history and play style, which could hold his value down a tier below what the Raiders might be hoping for.

In addition to the Cowboys and Bears, Palmer mentions the Bills and Patriots as other potentially interested suitors.

The Athletic’s Michael Silver says the expectation is that Crosby will be traded amidst a fallout with the Raiders, writing Crosby is at his limit with the years of losing, dysfunction and turnover in Las Vegas. The team shutting him down against his wishes last year was a flashpoint.

Silver also relays Crosby is frustrated with the presence of Alex Guerrero, long-time trainer for Tom Brady who has an official title of wellness coordinator in Las Vegas. He says Guerrero, who regularly attends practices and meetings, purports to possess significant organizational power. He tells players about impending transactions and Silver says he’s even indicated to people who don’t follow his instructions that their jobs may be at risk.

Guerrero is perceived to have a direct line to Brady, who lives in Florida and is not around the team as much as people with his influence usually are.

Silver notes six teams asked Sptek about a Crosby trade at last year’s Combine and more were interested this year. He has also heard the Raiders want two first-round picks and a player.

The Raiders haven’t told Crosby they will take the best offer or solicited his input on a potential landing spot yet, per Silver.

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer recently mentioned a list of several teams that were keeping tabs on Crosby’s availability in a potential trade.

New Raiders HC Klint Kubiak said he wants Crosby back on the team and has had positive conversations with him recently. Spytek also said he expects Crosby back in 2026, but it seems like that could change if any teams meet their asking price.

Crosby, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2019 out of Eastern Michigan University. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $3,302,264 contract that included a $782,264 signing bonus and was set to make a base salary of $850,000 when he signed a four-year, $98.98 million contract extension with over $53 million guaranteed.

Crosby was due base salaries of $22.236 million and $18.84 million in the final two years of the deal when he signed a three-year, $106.5 million extension in March 2025.

In 2025, Crosby appeared in 15 games for the Raiders and recorded 73 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, one interception, six pass defenses, and two forced fumbles.
