Lions Bring In RB Tashard Choice & WR Ramses Barden Among Others For Workouts

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Detroit Lions brought in a number of free agents for workouts on Tuesday including: RB Tashard Choice, RB Alex Green, WR Ramses Barden and WR Damian Williams.

Detroit has already made a few roster moves running back as they placed FB/RB Montell Owens on season-ending injured reserve and promoted RB George Winn from the practice squad on Tuesday.

There was some speculation earlier in the day that Joique Bell could be in danger of missing Week 5’s game after he suffered a concussion during their win on Sunday.

Choice, 29, hasn’t found any reported interest since he was released by the Colts back in February. Last year, he appeared in 15 games and ran for 170 yards on 46 carries (3.7 YPC) and contirbuted 15 receptions for 15 yards.

Barden, 28, is a former third-round selection of the New York Giants. He spent the first four years of his career with them, but was released with an injury settlement last September. He later caught on with the Bills and Jaguars for short periods of time.

Barden last appeared in an NFL game during the 2012 season catching 14 passes for 220 yards that year.

Williams, 26, spent his first four seasons with the Titans, before attempting to make the Dolphins 53-man roster this year. His best season came in 2011, when he recorded 45 catches for 592 yards and five touchdowns.

The Bears brought him in for a visit a few weeks ago, but he left without a contract.
