Colts Claim TE Randall Telfer Off Waivers From Browns, Waive TE Jason Vander Laan

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Colts have claimed TE Randall Telfer off of waivers from the Browns on Monday.

The Colts confirmed the move and announced that they’ve waived TE Jason Vander Laan.

The Browns actually traded Telfer to the Chiefs last week in return for LB Dadi Nicolas. However, the trade was later rescinded and both players were placed on waivers last Friday.

Cleveland had been shopping Telfer during the draft along with CB Jamar Taylor, but they apparently elected to move on.

Telfer, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Browns back in 2015. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2,397,536 contract and stands to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Telfer appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and caught three passes for 36 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
