The Detroit Lions brought in seven players for tryouts and visits on Sunday including former Dolphins CB Cordrea Tankersley, according to Albert Breer.
The full list of tryouts for the Lions includes:
- RB Marques Andrews
- RB Parker Houston
- C Joey Hunt
- RB Tre Madden
- RB Spencer Nigh
- DB Cordrea Tankersly
- WR Chris Lacy (Visit)
No team has been more active over the past week than the Lions, who have had daily tryouts with free agents.
Tankersley, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2017. He’s currently in the final year of a four-year, $3.17 million contract and set to make a base salary of $673,000 for the 2020 season.
The Dolphins placed Tankersley on the PUP list coming out of the preseason last year with a knee injury and later declined to activate him from the list. Miami ultimately waived him a few weeks ago.
In 2018, Tankersley appeared in six games for the Dolphins and recorded five tackles and no sacks or interceptions.
Hunt, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2016. He was entering the second year of his four-year rookie contract when Seattle cut him loose coming out of the preseason and re-signed to their practice squad.
The Seahawks placed an original-round tender on Hunt that would have cost them $2.133 million for the 2020 season. However, he was later waived.
In 2019, Hunt appeared in 14 games for the Seahawks and started eight. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 35 overall center out of 37 qualifying players.
We have him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
