The Detroit Lions placed C Travis Swanson on season-ending injured reserve Saturday and promote DL Kerry Hyder to their active roster, according to Tim Twentyman.
Swanson, 24, is in the second year of his four-year, $2.96 million rookie contract that included a $619,472 signing bonus. He’ll make a base salary of $520,000 this season and another $615,000 in 2016.
In 2015, Swanson appeared in 14 games for the Lions and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 33 center out of 39 qualifying players.
